Hey? The name's Angeli aka BeautifulDisaster411.
I own the Sidekick Lx espresso brown in color but also have a little knowlege on the SK Id & SK3.
I am absolutely in LOVE with my Sidekick Lx. These are some features & my personal opinions about the Lx...
Same swivel screen which makes a SK a SK...it's cool.
Crystal clear hi/def Lcd screen, it's F'n Amazing!
Love the lights, Lights blink for different reasons Blue= pending messgae Green= device is asleep Red=low battery.
Also there are many tricks with this phone, kinda neat.
Bluetooth (I'm still not sure what the heck it's all about, I don't use it)
But no A2DP Bluetooth Support
1.3 megapixel cramera with flash, sometimes takes great pics other times too bright
but cannot record videos....which really sux!
Off the hook email (you can add your other email accounts such as aol) & IM is sweet too(aol yahoo, msn compatiable)
QWERTY keypad is nice. Keys are rubber and light up, also they cannot rub off.
MicroSD memory card (includes 128mb card) slot for larger memory card (as large as 8 gb!)
Easy to use interface includes jump screen, which makes it even more simple.
Organizer is Neat & Simple.
PhoneBook stores everything you need to know about your callers.
MySpace application is Awesome & Easy!
Upgraded web browser & enhanced java but I don't find much of a difference compared to the previous SKs.
About the MP3 player? ...
Music services aren't supported.
Also, you still can't view album art,
and there's still no equalizer,
no video playback,
no over-the-air music,
and no external music buttons (besides a volume control).
Speaker phone is a plus but sounds like shit which is a big negative for me but whatever.
T-Mobile has yet to launch its own 3G network
Not WiFi compatiable (Sucks!)
It would really be nice to have GPS on this device...
The one thing I don't like about the Lx is the gayass themes in the catalog.
I love the Floral Gothica which I currently use.
The themes on SKLxThemes.com are F'n ill but I have not been able to figure out how to DL to my SK.
I have hooked up my Man's SK3 and it sux I cannot manage to do my own! ...really sux!
But when I firgure it out I will start a new thread.
When you buy the SKLx it will include the following...
Battery
Charger
Carrying case (kinda whack)
Stereo Hands Free Headset
& 128mb microSD card
Overall the Lx has a snappy performance, It's sleek' it's sexy and I f'n Love it!!!

Press at the same time...

[at button, left of spacebar. + Number ONE + Number Zero]


Master Reset Steps

1. Menu [top left button with 3 horizontal lines]
2. Settings
3. System Info
4. Press "Menu" Button + "Shift" Button + Letter "X"

Your device will ask...Are you sure you want to erase flash settings?
Press Yes.

5. Press "menu" Button + "Shift" Button + Letter "R"

Your device will ask... Are you sure you want to erase sign-in info?
Press Yes.

6. Press and Hold Power Button and Reset Hole Button [Need a pin to put in hole located behind the swivel]

Go to http://akeys03.com/sidekick/symbols.html from your sidekick...
Then follow these directions....
Good Luck =)

Step 1. First you will need to highlight the symbols...press and hold down SHIFT and then press an arrow on the DPAD....

(what ever arrow you press is the direction it will highlight in....Everything thats highlighted will have a black background and the text will turn white)

Step 2. Now you need to COPY what you've highlighted...press and hold down MENU and then press C

Step 3. Now you need to find a place to paste and save them! The best palce to save them is in your auto text...From the jump screen press MENU/SETTINGS/AUTOTEXT

Step 4.Once inside your auto text press MENU then select NEW RULE

Step 5.Now in the second box closest to your right hand PASTE by holding down MENU and then pressin V

...The symbols or what ever you copied should appear in the box!

Step 6. Now in the first box type something like sb...and press done

...You might want to go to you notes and test it out... Now everytime you type sb and hit the space bar the symbols will appear you can create new auto text rules as much as you want now!

YOU CAN ALSO DO THIS...IF YOU SEE SOME ONE IN A AIM CHAT OR I.M. MAKE A KOOL AUTOTEXT OR SYMBOL PRESS AND HOLD MENU THEN PRESS M...THIS WILL COPY THE CONVERSTATION AND SEND IT TO YOUR EMAIL...IF YOU HIT THE BACK BUTTON IT WILL BE SAVED AS A DRAFT...GO TO THE DRAFT AND COPY AND PASTE FROM THERE! I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT!!

Notes...

After you plug your Lx via usb, a "Removable Disk E (or whichever drive your Lx uses) will pop up...click "open floders to veiw files"...
That is where your Themes folder should be =)

If you are having trouble DL/ing themes to your Lx try using a default backround, I hear you have to have the theme your Lx came with to properly install new themes.
